French

 

Children across Key Stage 2 are taught French as an additional language. This is to ensure pupils have a solid foundation in the subject before moving into the Secondary phase. Each year group has a set of objectives to cover using The Rigolo Programme. Within this, the children are introduced to basic vocabulary related to topics and themes. This allows for progression from year group to year group across Key Stage 2 and for the children to become more confident and fluent with their speaking of French.  

Whilst learning a Modern Foreign Language is not a requirement for Key Stage 1 pupils, there are some skills that can be practised with the children.
